Seniors Newsletter January 2023

Welcome to the senior's newsletter for January 2023 outlining your events for forthcoming months.

We have over 36 events throughout the year and welcome all Cuddington male members of 55 and over to take part in the senior section. Please sign up for these on-line as soon as you receive each email notice. The diary for the year is now on the notice board and on-line and can be seen and printed HERE.

The second round of our Winter Greensomes knockout is under way managed by Philip Wilkins who also manages the 12 qualifying senior stableford meetings, the first of which takes place on 30th January. The first of our inter-club matches managed by Steve Rance is away to Effingham on 6th March.

Our last event in 2022 was the Seniors Christmas Stableford and Lunch. This was a very successful event with 60 players and a further 6 joining us for the delicious lunch prepared by Andrew and his team. Towards the end of the lunch our competition winners were presented with their prizes and photographs are showing on the notice board.

The 2022 results were as follows:

Winter Greensomes - Speers Trophy  - Malcolm Ralston & Neil Showell

Mixed Pairs Greensomes - Derek Brown Trophy - John Belcher and Mette Griffiths

Summer meeting Best 18 - George Parker Challenge Cup - Damian Symonds

Christmas Pairs - Baker Brown Trophy - Peter Swift & Ken Horton

My thanks go to the senior's committee for all their work throughout the year and we welcome new committee members Philip Bruce and Gordon Ironside. Many thanks also to David Snelling and George Sutherland who have retired from the committee. Thanks to Paul Schunter and the Pro shop team for their support, to Adam and the administration team and to Andrew and his team.  We are so lucky to have such a great golf course managed by Simon and his team. It is always in excellent condition and nearly always playable when other courses are closed due to poor weather conditions.

We wish you a very Happy Year and hope to see you taking part in many successful golf days in 2023.

Paul Cawthorne - Seniors secretary.
